Low-pressure system and rain on Egypt until the weekend

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts that the country will be affected by a low-pressure system, leading to a drop in temperatures and an increased likelihood of rainfall in several areas.

Unsettled weather conditions are expected to persist through the end of the week.

Light rain is anticipated, accompanied by low-level cloud cover and a noticeable drop in temperatures; daytime highs are expected to range between 29-30C, while nighttime lows will fall to around 19C.

The EMA also warned of morning mist—expected between four am and eight am—on roads leading to and from the north of the country, including routes passing through Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations during periods of reduced visibility.

Weather Forecast for Sunday

Sunday’s weather maps indicate a likelihood of light to moderate rainfall—potentially accompanied by thunderstorms—across parts of the northern coast.

Inland areas may experience light rain, with a low probability of precipitation in Greater Cairo; caution is advised.

Sunday’s weather will be autumnal and slightly hot during the day along the northern coast, hot in Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, and very hot in southern Upper Egypt.

Conditions will be mild during the early part of the night, turning cooler towards the end of the night and in the early morning.

The forecast maximum temperatures are 26C for the northern coast, 30C for Greater Cairo, 31C for northern Upper Egypt, and 37C for southern Upper Egypt.

Minimum temperatures will range between 19C-24C, depending on the region.
