Mobinil mulls compensation for service halt

Egyptian mobile phone operator Mobinil is weighing compensation for customers due to a five-hour service outage on Wednesday, a company official said.

The network was down from 3 pm to 8:30 pm in some areas Wednesday due to maintenance, according to Hassan Qabbani, Mobinil's managing director.

With the sudden service cut affecting subscribers during peak hours, Qabbani said the company is assessing the scope of damage and is studying means to compensate customers.

The company's website neither referred to the problem, nor to the maintenance.
