Navigation in Suez Canal resumed after 12-hour suspension

Navigation in the Suez Canal has returned to normal after it had been suspended for over 12 hours, due to the breakdown of a Greek cargo ship, a source at the Suez Canal Authority said on Tuesday.

The Greek cargo ship, Magsenger, carrying 77,000 tons, broke down near the southern sector of the canal. The ship was part of the North Convoy coming from the Mediterranean Sea, according to the source.

The ship was pulled by al-Baraka locomotive, one of the largest locomotives affiliated with the Suez Canal Authority, he said.
