Security forces at the Ministry of Solidarity, Qasr al-Aini Street, assaulted on Thursday Al-Masry Al-Youm photojournalist Omar al-Saher as he was taking shots of a citizen who had climbed a palm tree to commit suicide.
Security assaulted Saher after he said he did not bear a permit, despite other journalists' confirmation that he was also a journalist at Al-Masry Al-Youm.
Eyewitnesses told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the suicidal man had ascended the palm tree threatening to commit suicide after security personnel prevented him from meeting the minister of solidarity.
