Profit earning pushes stock indices down

Profit earning pushed stock indices down toward the end of Tuesday’s trading session after a strong rise since President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was inaugurated.

Investors were prompted to sell and rearrange their portfolios.

 
The main EGX30 index fell by 0.31 percent to 8,567.06 points, the small and medium stocks EGX70 index fell by 0.3 percent to 602.31points and the broader EGX100 index fell by 0.06 to 1,056.85 points. 
 
Total trading stood at LE719.2 million in 23,600 transactions and the capital market capital earned LE1.1 billion.
 
Traders expect more rises, especially after EFG-Hermes welcomed Naguib Sawiris's acquisitions of 18 percent of its shares.
