Romanian Academy awards Egypt’s Sisi honorary doctoral degree

Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies awarded the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi an Honorary Doctoral Degree during his two-day visit to Romania on Wednesday.

The Presidency’s Spokesperson Bassam Radi said that rector of Bucharest Academy Nicolae Istudor asserted the academy’s appreciation for Sisi’s role in achieving stability, development and construction in Egypt and implementing major structural reforms in the social and economic fields through national projects in the various sectors.

Sisi will discuss on Thursday the development of Egyptian-Romanian relations in the political and economic fields during several meetings with the Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and the Speakers of the Senate of Romania as well as the Chamber of Deputies.

Sisi met on Tuesday with Belarus’s Prime Minister Siarhiej Rumas ahead of visiting Romania and held talks with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, signing memorandums of understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation between Egypt and Belarus, including a MoU for the establishment of the Belarusian-Egyptian Business Council, which aims to boost trade and investment relations, as well as one for a road map for joint trade and economic relations.
