Tamarod leader: Jamaa al-Islamiya rejected to leave Brotherhood alliance

Founder of Tamarod movement Walid al-Barsh said that head of the Jamaa al-Islamiya Shura Council Ossama Hafez rejected the messages sent to the group through mediators to reconcile with the "homeland" and activate the initiative on stopping violence and excluding extremists from the group's leadership.

Barsh added Hafez preferred to continue as part of the Muslim Brotherhood alliance and to uphold Essam Derbala's inciting discourse against the Egyptian state.

Barsh added in a statement on his Facebook page Tuesday that the group no longer has a political future in Egypt.
