Tamarod Movement spokesperson Mostafa al-Suesy said the movement decided at its meeting on Thursday evening to open the door to volunteer requests for Sisi to run in the presidential elections.
He also said the movement will become a political party after the elections.
“We will accept requests in all offices and on our website,” he said. “And we are consulting with political figures to develop our party platform.”
He said the party might keep “Tamarod” as a name, given its historical connotation.
He also said that the fact that Mohamed Abdel Aziz and Hassan Shaheen, the movement leading figures, support Hamdeen Sabbahi confirms the notion of political competition, pointing out that they will return to the movement after the elections.
