Temperatures across Egypt to drop starting Friday: EMA

Temperatures are expected to drop across Egypt starting Friday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced.

Meteorologists anticipate temperatures to drop from September 1-6 by up to four degrees, with the maximum in Cairo recording 34C.

Coastal governorates are expected to record 31C, and the southern governorates up to 44C during daylight hours.

Hot and humid weather will prevail during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt and the northern coasts, with very hot weather in South Sinai and the southern parts of the country, with moderate humid temperatures at night in Greater Cairo up to northern Upper Egypt.

Hot humid temperatures at night are expected in South Sinai and the southern Egypt.

Weather maps indicate that September will be moderate compared to August, due to the contraction of the Indian seasonal monsoon, especially during the night hours.

However it may still be interspersed with relatively hot days.
