Clashes erupt between Cairo University students, police

Dozens of pro-Muslim Brotherhood students at Cairo University blocked Tharwat street on Friday to protest the arrest of their colleagues during clashes with police a day earlier. 

Students pelted rocks at police, who used tear gas to disperse them.
 
"The situation on campus required the interference of security forces in order to prevent the escalation of events due to the Brotherhood students' violence," the statement said. "Security forces had to impose control to ensure the continuing of exams." 
 
Dozens of pro-MB students performed funeral prayers at Cairo University's mosque after on Friday for colleagues who were killed in recent clashes.
 
According to the Health Ministry, a student was shot and killed during clashes that erupted between students and police on campus on Thursday.
 
At least 10 others were injured.
