A medical team was ordered to examine former President Hosni Mubarak after he fell in the bathroom at Tora Prison, where he is currently serving a life sentence for failing to prevent the killing of protesters during the 25 January revolution.

Prosecutor General Talaat Abdallah ordered the examination after Mubarak’s lawyer requested that the former president be transferred to a military hospital.

Mubarak suffered the fall on Saturday. He reportedly sustained injuries to his head as well as bruises and abrasions to his chest.
