Foreign Ministry: Egyptians abroad to vote on constitution

Egyptian expatriates will be allowed to start voting on the new draft constitution from 8–11 December at all embassies and 11 main consulates at which voting in presidential and parliamentary elections took place, the Foreign Ministry has said.

Ministry spokesperson Amr Roshdy said Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr directed Egyptian consulates and embassies abroad to extend working hours for the voting process, which will last from 8 am to 8 pm.

The High Judicial Elections Commission will offer on its website ballot papers for citizens who were already registered during the recent elections, Roshdy added.

Embassies and consulates will follow the same system, allowing voters to submit their ballot papers either by post or email. In either case, citizens should attach copy of residence visa, ID card and automated passport.
