Interior Ministry allocates LE245 million in bonus pay for sit-in dispersal

In a decision issued by Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim, the Interior Ministry has begun distributing bonus pay to ministry officers, totaling LE245 million nationwide, to officers who participated in the dispersal of sit-ins at Rabaa and al-Nahda squares on 14 August.
 
Cairo and Giza security directorates, the public security sector, the National Security Agency and the Central Security Forces sector distributed LE30 million under “exceptional bonus.”
 
The rest of the reward would be distributed to policemen affiliated with the ministry nationwide. 
 
Security official at the Interior Ministry said the ministry started distributing the reward on certain sectors in Giza and Cairo that took part in the dispersal of supporters of toppled President Mohamed Morsy in Rabaa and Nahda squares.
 
Official reports show at least 900 protesters were killed during the dispersal of both sit-ins.
