Military court president assaulted after securing ballot boxes

Four gunmen reportedly beat the president of the military court and stole his car near the village of Meet Halfa in Qalyubiya.

The Qalyub public hospital notified police that the victim had sustained severe injuries.  

According to investigations, the victim was in charge of securing the ballot boxes in Daqahlia after votes were counted. He was attacked on his way back to work in Cairo, where the military court is based.

The gunmen escaped in his car. 

Authorities are investigating the alleged assault and car jacking.
