Results of the first round of parliamentary elections will be announced at 8 pm Friday night, Egyptian state TV reported on Friday.
Abdel Moez Ibrahim, the head of the High Elections Commission, was supposed to announce the election results on Thursday, but the announcement was postponed since votes were still being counted at some polling stations.
Preliminary results have revealed that the Muslim Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party won the most first round seats, followed by the Salafi-led Nour Party.
