Vice-chief: Railways authority losses exceed US$140 million since January revolution

Total losses of the Egyptian National Railways exceeded US$140 million due to political situations that have been ongoing since 25 January revolution, according to Rashad Abdel Aaty, vice-chief of the authority.

The losses are blamed on train traffic suspension due to main reasons including citizen sit-ins that started during the revolution, the government’s decisions to halt the traffic upon 30 June revolution and the attempts to blow up the railways.
