The Constituent Assembly committee responsible for community liaisons held a conference in Arish Monday in a bid to hear local views and suggestions for the country's new constitution.

In the conference, titled "Know Your Constitution," the committee listened to tribal chiefs, youths, women, civil society groups and other North Sinai residents. Attendees issued a statement lauding the assembly's efforts to draft a constitution through consensus, representing all segments of Egyptian society.

Meanwhile, the Salafi Dawah Movement in Rafah objected to not being invited to the event.

Members of the dissolved National Democratic Party, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party, the Nour Party, the Wafd Party and the Karama Party attended.
