Egyptian Embassy in Washington opens expat voter registration

The Egyptian embassy in Washington, DC has opened registration for Egyptian expat voters in the US.

Starting Tuesday and continuing until 18 February, Egyptians in the US will be able to register for a database by be able to cast ballots for the next parliamentary elections, according to the High Judicial Elections Commission.

In a press release, the embassy said that the high elections commission allows voters to change their polling station from one inside Egypt to a diplomatic mission abroad, and that voters are also allowed to update their information if they're already registered in the same country or a different one.

Voters holding national ID cards are allowed to register for expatriate voting lists, provided they submit proof of residence or accomodation within the country of residence.
