Antiquities minister to inaugurate 3 tombs in Luxor

Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el-Damati will inaugurate on November 5 three archaeological tombs dating back to the era of the modern pharaonic state, said a statement by the Antiquities Ministry Thursday.
 
The three tombs will be open for visitors for the first time since they were discovered in Qarna Marei area in Luxor.
 
The three tombs belong to senior pharaonic statesmen including the deputy of King Tutankhamun and the governor of the southern territories under the modern state, the spiritual father of the palace of King Amenhotep III and the patron of Amun-Re's cattle, according to Damati's statement. 
 
The statement mentioned that the step comes as part of the ministry's plan to promote tourism.
 
Another two tombs of King Horemheb and King Tuthmosis III in the Valley of the Kings will be reopened as well after maintenance work has been concluded.
