In reference to Mubarak decision, army says no one is above the law

Commenting on the Attorney General’s decision to freeze funds of former President Hosni Mubarak and his family and ban them from leaving the country, military sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the army does not take sides and that no one is above the law.

They added that the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces is, like all Egyptians, following the news put out by the Attorney General’s office. They added that the former president will be condemned if guilty and acquitted if innocent.

Attorney General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud decided to freeze the assets of former president Hosni Mubarak, his wife Suzanne, his two sons Alaa and Gamal, their wives Heidi Rasach and Khadija al-Gamal, and their children. The decision includes all real estate, cash, stocks, bonds and various securities in banks, companies and other financial institutions. All banks and relevant institutions were notified in order to implement the decision.
