Elections commission: Morsy wins expat vote

Muslim Brotherhood presidential candidate Mohamed Morsy won the vote for Egyptians abroad, Presidential Elections Commission Secretary General Hatem Bagato said at a meeting Monday evening.

Bagato said 586,804 Egyptians abroad had registered to vote, while 306,812 cast their ballots.

Morsy won 225,893 votes, while former Prime Minister Ahmed Shafiq won 75,827.

Out of the votes cast abroad, 301,720 were valid and 5,092 were invalid.
